About

My name is Jamillah Bowman Williams, Founder and CEO of Synergie Consulting, LLC. I am passionate about promoting racial justice and economic opportunity by building more equitable workplace solutions.  I have a Master’s Degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education from the University of Michigan, a J.D. Degree from Stanford Law School, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Stanford University.  I bring over 17 years of experience as a researcher, consultant, and legal counsel to Fortune 500 companies.

At Synergie, I partner with leaders from business, government, higher education, and nonprofit organizations to move from aspirations and stated commitments to equity and inclusion to evidence-based solutions that make these goals a reality.

Through consulting, speaking, and research, I facilitate a process of discovery that will confront challenges and inspire tangible action to take your organization to the next level. I am eager to work with forward thinking leaders who are serious about advancing racial and gender equity, and making a difference in the world.

Consulting

I offer consulting services to help organizations assess the challenges and opportunities talent may face in the workplace. Through a collaborative process, I uncover risks and roadblocks at the individual and systems level that may prevent your talent from thriving. Based on these discoveries, I offer evidence-based solutions for greater awareness, equity, and engagement that will unlock hidden potential and take your company to the next level.

Speaking

I am available for a range of speaking engagements, from keynote addresses to customized workshops. Building on my current research, I can speak to your audience on topics such as:

  • Promoting Racial Equity: From Principle to Practice
  • Intersectionality at Work
  • Action-Oriented Allyship
  • Building a Culture of Collective Accountability in the Workplace
  • Beyond the Business Case: From Transactional to Transformational Inclusion

Research

I advise on research projects that use quantitative and qualitative methods to get to the root of an organization's challenges to lead data driven transformation. This may include structured interviews and focus groups, review and evaluation of current policies and practices, and assessment of workplace training and DEI interventions. The insights gained from the research pave the way for informed, empirically-based reflection, and ultimately the design of more equitable workplace systems.

These are some of the organizations I’ve partnered with on workplace change efforts, including collaborative research, workshops, and coaching:

Government

Corporate

Non-profit
